Kelvin and Jennifer were well through their flight training when they decided to buy a new aircraft. They decided to buy a new Airborne XT-912 SST Trike. The colour of the pod and wing were decided, and the avionics package was going to be the same as the Yarrawonga Flight Training aircraft.
Right on the back of flying to Wangaratta we had another fantastic day at YFT. David decided that it was too good to not fly, so off he went with his camera on movie. Two gigabytes and quarter of an hour later, David had created a good movie of the local area. The camera is mounted on the control bar, which gives a pilots eye view of the flight. Anne and I decided to partake in this magnificent sunset as well. We spotted David about 10nm from the aerodrome and headed for him to get some photos of our own.
David on approach to YYWG
This was well worth while and the two aircraft flew back to YFT in formation. What a day, and what a life. Training pilots and having flights like this, what more could you ask for?
Five pilots in their aircraft departed YFT after the fog cleared. The aircrew were all ready to leave earlier, but the weather had other ideas.
The fog hung around until 1230 hours. Just as we were about to pull the pin on the day, the fog started to lift. All five aircraft were pushed out the YFT hangars and were pre-flighted ready to go.
Faye flies one of YFT’s XT-912’s around Lake Mulwala near Yarrawonga.
Faye flying XT-912
Faye was flying circuits this afternoon when Anne and I asked Faye to fly out over the lake for a photo shoot. It took no time at all for the XT-912 to get into the right spot for a photo.
It was estimated that nearly 8000 people attended the day. A big thank you to all the helpers from YFT. Without you my job would have been impossible. Our flight line was full and it was great to see such a variety of aircraft, new and old. Thankyou to all the pilots for bringing your pride and joy to our centenary day at Yarrawonga.
On Sunday 15th of August YFT is flying to Lee Gordon-Brown’s Hangar at Tocumwal. Meet at 1000 hours at YFT and we will head off from there. To join in just contact Peter or Anne on 0415 406 413 or yft@yarrawongaflighttraining.com.au all welcome.
Yes, it’s on and you can be part of this historic day. Saturday the 17th of July… That’s right next weekend. You will be able to see Roulette Pilot Bernard Gleeson doing this at 1200 hour over Yarrawonga Aerodrome.
After photographing Willem in his new XT-912 Peter and Anne decided to climb above the clouds to 4500 feet to get a great sunset shot. another special day at Yarrawonga Flight Training.
Willem flies over Yarrawonga in his new XT-912. After getting his licence only days ago, he is taking full advantage of his new found freedom. What a great day for flying and well done Willem.
