P&M PulsR 912S over Gulf Shores, AL

    Thursday, February 25th, 2016

Take a pick inside the cockpit of the amazing P&M PulsR Light-Sport trike while cruising around the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama.

There are no compromises in the world’s most innovative and unique trike. Designed, engineered and built by one of the largest and most solid microlight manufacturer in existence, P&M Aviation LTD in UK, a recognized leader in the market and holder numerous microlight competition wins, records and awards.

The range, stability, comfort and performance of this touring Weight-Shift Control Light-Sport Aircraft has not match. Perhaps bridging the gap between the more enclosed fix wing LSA aircraft with the versatility, ease to store and transport, and of course the fun of flying a weight-shift control.

Lawrie and CFI Peter go Flying…

This morning was not only windy but it was also cold. Lawrie an I decided to go for a fly in the cold air. Great idea… But who forgot to wear a neck warmer. The wind was blowing about 25kts and the density Altitude was 304 feet unlike yesterday where it was 2750 feet. Yes the Tanarg did notice the difference. We took off like a cut cat. We flew for about an hour and then came back and Lawrie decided to do some x-wind circuits. Another great flight.

    20160216_083409Bill’s Jodel…

I received a photo from Bill at the P&M Aviation factory in the UK this morning. Bill took 3 1/2 year to build this fantastic Jodel. Bill fitted the Jodel with a Rotax 912s and put a Warp Drive prop on it. It is much better than all the 3 axis aircraft including the Flight Design CT! Bill gets 14LPH at 90kts carrying 3 people. Flying solo this morning, he measured 130 metres ground roll and then 1150 fpm climb. 72″ fixed pitch Warp Drive prop, 4800 rpm static, 5600 rpm at 118 kt max level.

So there you go what a great aircraft.

    Collision Avoidance: See, Sense, Separate

    Saturday, February 13th, 2016

Mid-air collisions fall into that “low probability, high consequence” category, but the topic still brings a chill to most pilots. In this video, we discuss areas where the risk of a mid-air is greatest as well as strategies for minimizing the chance of having one.

    Navigation Flights at YFT

    Saturday, February 13th, 2016

    David flew another Nav…

5334David had been out flying by him self this morning when CFI Peter told him to plan a small navigation flight. David did just that. Off we went onto the rough skies. David climbed to a smooth Altitude and conducted a 1.2 hour nav with almost no help from his CFI. Another great flight.
