    YFT Formation Training

    Saturday, January 31st, 2015

    Kyle starts formation training…

2351Another cross wind day starts, but today is formation training day for Kyle and Lawrie. The formation started with a briefing and then it was into the sky with Lawrie as Leader. Kyle would take over as Leader later in the flight. The join-up over the aerodrome was good and then the two aircraft flew off in Echelon Left. After a few turns the formation changed to Line Astern, and then a few more turns, before changing again into Echelon Right.2363 It was then time for a Lead change. Lawrie gave the handsignal and Kyle returned it and Kyle became the new Leader. Kyle gave the calls for the Formation to change from one formation to another and Lawrie followed. It was then time to come into land. Kyle gave the calls to join the circuit and once again Lawrie followed. The landing was made on runway 19 and both aircraft cleared the runway and back to the hangar for a debrief and coffee. Everyone was happy with the formation flight, and more importantly, so were the instructors, who were sitting in the rear seats.

    Beautiful Moment of the Flight

    Friday, January 30th, 2015

Sometime, I don’t need multiple GoPro cameras, but just one camera. No editing needed on the clip. I just added the music I like. This was such a beautiful moment in my trike. How do you think ?

    Lawrie starts Formation Training…

2320Today Lawrie started formation training. The weather wasn’t the best with 20kts and a cross wind on the runway, but Lawrie did really well. The Take-off was a stream type, and then he joined the formation over the aerodrome. He was a little reluctant to get close at first but after 20 minutes Lawrie was in Left Echelon and then Right Echelon and doing well. Weather permitting he will be up again tonight.

After arriving at YCOR Tulsi conducted four circuits on runway 14, before departing over head for YYWG. Arriving back at YYWG the wind was back to being a cross wind and Tulsi did tow more circuits before making a full stop landing. The Air Creation Skypper is getting a lot of flying in lately. Well done Tulsi.

    2286Australia Day 2015 at YFT…

Yes we had another succesful Australia Day BBQ… People flew or drove in to Hangar 19 from two states, in many and varied aircraft. The weather was great, neither too hot nor too windy. The people mixed thoroughly, and provided savoury and sweet dishes to 2290complement the basic BBQ provided by YFT. Helping hands were offered to clean up during and after the event, making the day enjoyable for all. We estimate approximately 80 people attended, and overheard one comment that it must be a “foodies’ fly-in”. If so, that is thanks to the attendees! Thankyou to all for coming, your company has been a pleasure. Hope to see you all again at the Hangar 19 Australia Day BBQ 2016….2287

    Sting S4

    Saturday, January 24th, 2015

    The new Sting S4 arrived…

It was good to see Bob and Grant arrive in the new Sting S4. I asked Bob if he was trading up from the Topaz? The answer was no, he still likes the Topaz. Grant is flying out of Bacchus Marsh aerodrome. Bob still keeps the Topaz at Penfield. The Sting S4 has more room than the earlier model, and it looks great.
