I feel the need the need for a TIF…

2115Yesterday four people came in for a TIF. They were Top Gun fans. Yes you could tell by the comments, they were all from the movie. However they wanted a taste of what it would be like to fly a Trike. They came to right place. Senior Instructor Ken and CFI Peter took the four pilot want to bees up in a formation flight. The first comments were “I am going out on the edge here… This is much better than the helicopter I did the TIF in last week”. They all want to come back and they were discussing how they would buy their Trikes.

    Trevor gains his cross country…

2101Trevor flew his final Nav today, and then sat the last written test. Yes he passed. Trevor also said that he enjoyed the flight test much better than the written test. Trevor flew from Yarrawonga to Wahring Field and then onto Benalla. Then back to Yarrawonga. Trevor had a diversion just before making his approach at Benalla. It appears that an aircraft had crashed on the runway at benalla close the aerodrome down. This is why Trevor had to make a diversion. I love being an instructor, we get to play some great games on our student. Well done Trevor .

After a short quiet spell in the flying traffic, a voice came over the radio… It was George from Wahring Field. It was quite funny as Trevor and Ken had just flown to Wahring Field today to see if George was there.

    2063Branko goes flying…

It was good to see Branko back in the air after his mishap with the nail gun. Yes Branko was at work when he accidentally shot himself in the hand with his nail gun. No problem said Branko he just removed the nail and kept working. However when it came to flying it was not so good trying to hold the controls. Well he is better now and up flying again.

2088Ken takes a caravan park resident up for a flight…

Ken is staying in the local caravan park, and one of the long time Yarrawonga residents that lives in the park asked if he could go for a fly. Well what a great day for a fly, unlike yesterday. Ken and his PAX took off and headed west. They then flew back and around the lake. After landing it was interesting to hear the comment that Yarrawonga looks very different from the air.

However as the flight progressed a diversion happened and instead of flying South we ended up going North. Lawrie ploted his track to Urana and then back to Yarrawonga. This flight prooved that Lawrie was on the ball and when we arrived back at YFT  I gave Lawrie the good news. Well done Lawrie.
