01608Noel completes a Three Hour Nav.

Noel flew his red Tanarg to the breakfast at Tocumwal, then continued on to Shepparton before returning to Yarrawonga. During a short weekend at YFT, Noel flew for nearly six hours of training, and he is hoping to return for more training next weekend. Well done Noel.

    01641Ian’s QuikR Flies

After Ian flew a Nav to Tocumwal and back in a Tanarg, Peter did a test flight in Ian’s QuikR. After making sure that it was all safe, Ian climbed in the back and they both flew for half an hour around the area at eighty knots. Ian was suitably happy, and considering that he flew five hours during the day and a half that he was at YFT, he drove home a very happy camper!

    01602Tocumwal Aero Club Breakfast…

Five aircraft, seven aircrew, a short flight, and a great social morning. That’s what it’s all about. I sent out an email when I found out that Tocumwal aero club was having a breakfast. With such short notice we did well, and all the crew met at 0700 hour at YFT. The flight was short but the area was starting to look yellow with the canola. After landing it was time to hook into some hearty tucker, and socialize with friends. After breakfast it was time for two YFT students to continue on their Nav flights. Thanks to all who attended, and we hope to see you at the next breakfast or BBQ.

    01456Ken completes another 9 X-wind landings…

Yes, It was meant to be Formation Friday, but thanks to a wayward cold front we gave it a miss. So Ken decided to do some more x-wind landings. The wind was coming from the West at 270 degrees, and blowing at a healthy 20kts. Perfect for flying the cross wind approach. Ken only had time to complete 3 landings when a Citation jet landed. Once it was down and clear Ken continued. It looks hairy but it’s very safe.

    1416Formation of Three…

Wednesday afternoon was another formation training session with three aircraft trialling a new formation. The Reverse Vee. The three aircraft formation completed Head to Head, Line Abreast, and Echelon before moving into the Reverse Vee formation. This was very successful and the icecream lickers were impressed.

    1205Just a great photo.

Stewart, or should I say StewArt, from Hervey Bay, visited YFT to pick up a new wing for his XT-912 a few weeks ago. When Stewart was here he went for a fly with Ken and CFI Peter. During the flights Stewart took a number of photos and this is one of them. Thank you Stewart for the photos.
