    Solo man James

    Thursday, May 30th, 2013

    James goes Solo….

DSC00540James went solo in his X-582 Outback. James has been flying the most unreliable aircraft at YFT for the past week. CFI Peter has made sure of that. Engine failure after engine failure, and then James had to fly into a very short runway. Not once but four times, just to make his CFI happy. The wind has only been a little kind to James, as most day he has been flying in 20kt x-winds. You must also remember that James outback has a Wizard 3 wing, so its not the fastest aircraft in the world. James did a nav to Corowa, and although it took 1.5 hours we did have a 25kt headwind. Well done James.

    Ross flies again

    Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

    Ross from Tasmania flies again.

C00348It was great to see Ross and Brenda from Tasmania at YFT. They were on their way home from there latest trip around our big land. They decided to stay at Yarrawonga for a couple of days. Ross had a Edge Executive called “Nightmare” which had nose art which depicted a naked lady with a horses head. Ross sold his aircraft a number of years ago, and hasn’t flown much since. I asked Ross if he would like to fly the Arrow. Well it just goes to show you. Ross hadn’t forgotten how to fly. Well done Ross.

    XT-912 Arrow first 100 hourly

    Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

C00345Peter’s first 100 hours in the Arrow.

Peter and his brother flew over from Deniliquin to get there first 100 hourly done. What a flight in the smooth air, and it didn’t take long to find a few little problems. The main task was to replace the fuel lines. They were cracked and wouldn’t of lasted much longer. All in all their aircraft was in great shape. The boys flew back to Deniliquin later in the day.

    C00346Ross completes his BFR.

Ross picked the best day of the week for his BFR. The day was fine with a light breeze and Ross drove over with his Edge X in tow. After his BFR was complete Ross and his wife went flying around the lake.

    C00327Cherokee VH-CAF is no longer silver…

Phil and Ann’s Cherokee has been in a state of getting ready for a paint job for a few years now. On Saturday Charlie Alpha Foxtrot was rolled out of the hangar with a new look. WOW… what can I say, great colour scheme. I bet this Cherokee will get a lot of looks on the Megafauna Fly-away next week.
