    Seminole PA-44 Project is Finished

    Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Malcolm Lang is a Happy Man!

Yesterday Malcolm completed a three year project. It was great to see the Seminole flying after all the blood, sweat and tears, (not to mention time and dollars), that Malcolm has put into this project.

A brilliant sight, Malcolm’s two projects stand completed in the afternoon light.

Three years and a lot of ordering of parts right up to the last day. However these two beautiful aircraft took to the air and flew as they should.

    Well done Malcolm!

Victa Airtourers from all over the country start to arrive for the President’s Fly-in at Yarrawonga. For the last four years the President’s Fly-in has been held at YFT facility at Yarrawonga. Aircraft started to arrive on Friday afternoon, and by last light 12 aircraft were parked at YFT. The weekend is full of activities. Saturday the group flies from YYWG to YSHT for lunch and then back to YFT for the Annual President’s Dinner.  On Sunday, it’s off to Kelly country, for a coach tour of Glenrowan and the Ned Kelly museum. Tongues wag nineteen to the dozen with all the catchup news between get-to-gethers. It’s great!

    Monday, September 13th, 2010

Kel & Jennifer have a new XT-912 SST.

They are having so much fun flying here and there its great. But the other day we received a phone call to let us know that Kel got bogged!

Oh not in their XT-912 it was Kel’s MF tractor!

You have to admit Kel has done a good job of it.

At least Kel and Jeniffer had some great flying over the weekend. They had two flights to Wangaratta and a number of local flights.

PS at 1730 hours we received good news… Tractor extraction had taken place. Kel and Tractor both well.

    Floods from a Microlight

Floods… Water Water everywhere and not a landing spot in sight.

    A new Lake near Wilby

    A new Lake near Wilby

We decided to have a look at the flooded areas of Victoria this morning. A quick flight to Benalla showed not a lot of water apart from in the river itself. I was surprised after all the press coverage we have been bombarded with over the last few days. We tracked from Yarrawonga in a straight line for Benalla.  Other than a new lake at Wilby, there was not a lot of excess water to be seen. Flying over Lake Mokoan there was some water in the lake, however once we reached Benalla Town you could only see where the water had been. The Broken River was still running fast and the local swimming pool was full of mud. “I want to go swimming right now in that pool”…NOT! (more…)
