Kel shows off his wings
Yesterday Kel Doyle of Chiltern Victoria passed his Flight test and gained the status of Pilot. Kel had a grueling theory test before taking to the air for his flight test. One of Kel’s favorite answers to questions about what is on a ERCLOW chart is “LOTS of information”. Kel had a very good flight test with thunder storms in the distance and emergency landings and many other in-flight emergencies happening. I think Kel must have thought he had the most unreliable aircraft in the world. At the end of Kel’s flight test he had passed and was issued with his wings. He now has a licence to learn. Well done Kel! Jenny Doyle has been learning to fly as well, and she is hot on the heals of her husband Kel.

Arthur arrived at YFT only eleven days ago and today, the 8th of February, he went Solo in his own Airborne X-582 aircraft. Well done Arthur… He passed all the required CASA theory exams last week (Air Legislation, Flight Radio, BAK, and Human Factors). Arthur has not had it easy by any stretch, he has flown in 25kt winds and thermally
conditions, and he has taken it all in his stride. Arthur’s wife, Jen, has spent the time completing the theory training as well. She passed her practical radio training earlier today, in one of YFT’s new SST-912 aircraft.
David Hunt is a student no more. David conducted his flight test today at YFT and passed! David started his flight training in October last year, and today the licence was granted. After many hours of theory, and flight training he has achieved the first goal. However David has already started Nav training and we look forward to seeing David get his unrestricted licence soon.
